Thank you to you and Dr John Lockhart. And thank you to you and Independent Sage for all you have done, and continue to do, to give us the information to reduce suffering and death
Thank you. Your work is very much valued. The clarity of your posts throughout provided the information needed to inform decision making for me and many others.
A very useful summary. Memory tends to distort and scramble up all the various stages of the pandemic and the contemporaneous messages are an extremely valuable counter-argument to all the attempts at 'benefit of hindsight' whitewashing we are now being served up by the key indecision-makers of the time - and their supporters.
Thanks so much for all the work you (and Independent Sage) have done and continue to do. Its great that you are archiving your tweets during Covid. I found the 2020 round-up email received today really useful and informative. I'd be grateful if you would do the same for 2021 etc in due course. Again thanks for everything.
Great to know its there and more to come. Many thanks go to you & John L and of course Indie SAGE and other pro bonos. I don't do TV but remember a glimpse of the look on your face before that Christmas. I wistfully wish there was a way that paper copies could be widely available, e.g. in public libraries and, if they still have them, in research institute libraries where people can read them in the coffee break. Its good to be able to insert glosses, the like of e.g. personal timelines, and perhaps discuss them with others.
Forget WHO getting it wrong, I mentioned this to Kit Yates already, why was airborne transmission not given the atterntion it needed? (Indie SAGE got it.) Even before 1st lockdown there was a strong putative case for airborne transmission. Long time ago I did risk assessment in serious quarantine situations in the agri sector, and sadly, we know expert judgment comes in different sizes, but it is nevertheless essential. Recently I have been reading Erica Thompson's useful 'Escape from Model Land'.
I remember reading your twitter posts at the time and thinking that of all the information on twitter I was reading about covid, yours made the most sense. I remember being asked by someone who to follow to get the best advice about covid. I suggested you. I have had no reason since to change my mind about that. Thank you.
Excellent overview. I followed it all but definitely need it laid out now in the way you suggest. Many thanks for doing all of this work. Indie Sage has been a lifeline for many of us.
I have followed you and Indy SAGE since the briefings started. An archive of your twitter posts woujd be incredibly valuable. As woujd short summaries of each period to act as a kind of index to the archived posts. Can you ‘pin’ the summaries somehow? It’s really difficult to remember what we knew at the time although enough must have been known for me to have continued distancing, masking and paying attention to co2 as a proxy for as long as I can remember.
I’d like to take the opportunity to thank you for your communication throughout. I’m not overstating the case to say that your and Indy SAGE’s advice has saved my health and possibly my life.
Excellent- thank you. Fourth Christmas as a small family one ( I’m CEV) Extended family had one CV+ ( tested yesterday morning as about to go to care job) -mixing with rest of the family no precautions -I’m surprised but as there’s no public health messaging should I be?
Thank you. I'd really appreciate the interim updates on each of the 6 month periods of 2021. Your clarity has been so appreciated.

Really useful summary. Thank you for doing this.
Thanks so much for putting this summary together. A similar one for 2021 would be a really good record if you can manage it.

I wholeheartedly support Susanne’s comment above. I too remain hugely grateful to you and Indie Sage.
