The Trump Action Tracker has had an update!
Finer-grained domains, easier filtering, better views on a phone, to help make sense of 1600+ actions
Hi all,
Just a quick post to let you know that we’ve pushed a bunch of updates to the TrumpActionTracker this weekend!
The main change is that we have broken down our five domains of authoritarian behaviours into ten. This is not adding domains, but instead splitting out some of the larger previous domains into their constituent parts. So for instance, what was formerly “undermining civil rights; corruption and enrichment” has become two domains, one for undermining civil rights and the other for logging corruption. Another important split was separating out “Nationalism” from “Aggressive foreign policy/global destabilisation”.
As the number of logged actions continues to grow (now at 1621), I felt that it would be easier to make sense of actions by having these finer grained categories. It not only helps see rapidly why actions have made it onto the list (the short titles are now more representative of each domain) but also easier to filter and search if wanting to understand specific types of action, or specific time periods of the second term.
Speaking of filtering, there is now a toggle to select/deselect all categories and the date sort has been enabled for showing results within a text search. So for instance, searching on “Lisa”, and ordering by oldest date first, you can see the rapid esacalation in actions against Federal Reserver Governor Lisa Cook over one week in August.
The finer-grained view also reveals more patterns emerging. There was an initial focus in the first few months of hollowing out the state with DOGE aggressively cutting funds, staff and whole departments or agencies (the dark pink bulge). Spring saw the first large and concerted attacks on universities (the light pink bulge). And then since the summer, many actions have fallen in to the “anti-immigrant or militarised nationalism” domains, as Trump has sent ICE and the National Guard to Democrat cities.
You can read more details on how each domain is assigned in the About page. I’m also now aiming for twice weekly video/podcast updates on the latest actions (instead of more frequent). So far they are averaging about 3.5 minutes and you can subscribe via Apple, Spotify or Pocketcast podcast players too!
Please do go explore the site and share widely!
And thank you so much to Sandy Laping for helping me keep on top of the latest goings on, Pete Duncanson for his work in setting up and maintaining the website and a couple of other volunteers who wish to remain anonymous but who have also been working hard on the website over the last week!

Thanks for your hard work and vigilance. You may be aware but Chrome, Edge, Firefox and Norton are blocking / blacklisting this website (for me at least). I'm not that IT-literate but it doesn't smell good nonetheless. I'm accessing it via DuckDuckGo. It's inspired me to move away from Google so swings and roundabouts.
Further to my earlier comment about the TAT link being blocked, and just in case it's of use to anyone, I've complained to Norton and Google using the text below. Norton doesn't make it easy but I did it via the 'Report False Positive' system. With Google, I selected 'send feedback to Google' via the help tab in Gmail. I'll report back if I get any response.
NORTON
I've noticed that Norton has blacklisted and blocked this link:www.trumpactiontracker.info
I routinely use this website to keep track of the damage being done to democracy and free speech by the Trump regime. To the best of my understanding, the website is not dangerous to me or my system and is not malicious or criminal in any way. I can access the website safely by using browsers other than Chrome, Firefox and Edge.
Please explain why Norton has blocked this website. It looks an awful lot like your company is shutting down legitimate reporting on behalf of a malignant autocrat. If this is the case, then you are providing a service to Donald Trump rather than to me, your customer. As far as I'm aware, Trump isn't paying for my subscription.
Please stop blocking www.trumpactiontracker.info and explain honestly why Norton has blacklisted it at all, failing which I'll be parting company with Norton for good and urging my friends, family and followers to do the same.
GOOGLE

It seems clear that Google, despite the fact that billions of people depend on it for information, has knuckled under to a dictatorship. The fact that Google has contributed to the vulgar abomination that is Trump's ballroom says an awful lot.
I'm partly responsible for this. Like too many people, I've allowed myself to trust Google and thus become way too dependent on its services. It's now clear that usefulness is not the same as trustworthiness.
I'd love to be persuaded that I'm wrong and I'd welcome a reply.
