Crazy we have to rely on anecdote in the UK, but as I know someone who tested + yesterday after a long gap of nothing we're on alert. Thanks Christina

Thank you! We in the US no longer have science based information.

Thank you!

Is there anywhere it would be helpful to self report community cases now that there is no Government monitoring please? I've lost track ( and just tested positive)

Thank you, Prof. Pagel!

On the basis of your update, my wife and I had covid vaccinations today, in preparation for a wave this summer. I think I might have made a mistake, though. I chose the kp2 vaccine because the pharmacist said it was an update of the Jn1 vaccine, but I now realise it is a vaccine based on a different strain of covid than the one sweeping across Asia, USA and now hitting Europe, related to Jn1. Did i waste my money getting this private vaccination ?

Looks like the virus has attenuated somewhat + more people developed CD8 killer cells from natural infection. This could explain why deaths are down compared to last year.

Beware of this account - it spreads misinformation.

Misinformation? Remember how everyone told Galileo heavier things fall faster than lighter things? Those who claim someone is spreading misinformation are those who spread misinformation.

Thank you for writing this, it is very informative.

I was wondering if you might also consider commenting publicly on the inevitable impact this new wave will have on the youngest members of the population? Your 2024 research was an alarming read which went totally under the radar. I am confident that the vast majority of the general population have no idea whatsoever how dangerous Covid is to unborn babies and children who are under 1 year old.

Perhaps a reminder might make people wake up? Saying that 'this variant is no more severe' is often interpreted as 'this variant won't be a big problem'.

It would be really great if you could share the stats you found about Covid hospitalisations and deaths in children under 1 between 2023-24 again, so that people have a true understanding of what 'the last variants' did to the youngest in our society. Many thanks.

Thanks Christina.

I have a question:

"our population immunity to infection" - I'm always confused when even scientists use phrases like this. What 'immunity' did our population ever have to Covid? I thought the whole problem was the inability of populations to create 'herd immunity' to this particular disease. That, and the vaccines' inability to prevent infection itself.

Please could you explain this immunity for us Christina?

How so? Do people not have population immunity against other coronaviruses such as NL63, HKU1, 229E, OC43? SARS COV 2 is no different.

Thank you so much. I’ve been listening to everything you have said since the pandemic began. It’s wonderful to hear those scientists able to speak truthfully now that science & scientists have been muzzled in the U.S.

Great reporting, thank you so much socially now that there is much less monitoring it’s a great way to get an idea of what’s going on. Specially for someone who is immunocompromised 🙏🏻

Thank you for this, it is the only accurate and useful report on Covid virus prevalence in the UK. This is essential for people like me who have had Long Covid ( I don’t care what you call it) for 15 yrs and constantly wonder how much contact with the general population is sensible.

Thank you. This prompted me to buy a Boots jab for next week. I find it incomprehensible that the very useful info you provide is nowhere to be found in public info in the UK.
