I think the Green Party have far and away the best policies on health with their commitment to universal basic income being a potential game changer allowing people to live less precarious lives.

Thank you for this wonderfully detailed and informative article. I fear that despite Labour being marginally better than the Tories on contributing factors, the continued privatisation of the NHS is an issue which will not go away once Labour inevitably assume power. Healthcare run for profit is not healthcare run for people.

Exceptionally useful article. Would need whole recasting of mindset. 'Growth' v. unlikely and 'trickle down' failed. 'Modernity' past peak? We follow the US curve of worsening health? Less affordable remedies and worsening outcomes?

Thank you for an extraordinary, exceptional article. Largely preaching to the converted? Maybe this sort of article can represent part of our need for an ongoing, adult, responsible discussion, over and above political pap to swing votes. Will Labour quickly, honestly tell us all how the land lies? Or try to engineer a long term Blair-like reelection process? Why Blackrock, not Octopus on the new Council. ( see the guardian ) Much of our country is now sold off or contracted out…. A speedy new ‘Unfair contract’ Law might make a difference.
